Families-R-Resilient-2 Therapy Services is my private practice. I am James M. Sutton, MSW, LCSW and I opened this practice to continue a life of service that began in the U. S. Marine Corps. 

I am a retired Marine veteran whose service spans multiple periods.

I studied social work at North Carolina State University in Raleigh, North Carolina graduating Summa Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Social Work degree.  I obtained a Master of Social Work degree from East Carolina University in Greenville, North Carolina.

I am a member of the National Association of Social Workers.  During my academic career, I was inducted into the Golden Key, Phi Theta Kappa, Phi Kappa Phi, and Phi Beta Kappa Honor Societies.

As I strive to erase the stigma associated with receiving mental health treatment, I work to make mental health services more accessible to all.

I have worked with adults, families, children, adolescents, and couples in numerous settings including community mental health, outpatient therapy, correctional mental health, and military and family life counseling.
