Service is My Foundation

Families-R-Resilient-2 Therapy Services is my private practice. I am James M. Sutton, MSW, LCSW and I opened this practice to continue a life of service that began in the U. S. Marine Corps. 

I am a retired Marine veteran whose service spans multiple periods to include the Gulf War period.

I studied social work at North Carolina State University in Raleigh, North Carolina graduating Summa Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Social Work degree.  I then obtained a Master of Social Work degree from East Carolina University in Greenville, North Carolina.

I am a member of the National Association of Social Workers.  During my academic career, I was inducted into the Golden Key, Phi Theta Kappa, Phi Kappa Phi, and Phi Beta Kappa Honor Societies.

As I strive to erase the stigma associated with receiving mental health treatment, I work to make mental health services more accessible to all.

I have worked with adults, families, children, adolescents, and couples in numerous settings including  community mental health, outpatient therapy, correctional mental health, and  military and family life counseling.

During times of leisure,  I visit with family and dream of going fishing.
